Skin concerns · Collagen
Your skin builds and rebuilds its own collagen. A reading shows what’s on the surface. The plan looks after what sits underneath.
In short
Collagen is part of the extra-cellular matrix, the mesh under your skin that gives it strength. Your skin builds its own. A plan supports it with a vitamin C cofactor, daily SPF and a barrier that holds.
The science
Under the surface sits the extra-cellular matrix. Think of a mattress and its springs.
Cells called fibroblasts spend their lives building and mending this mesh. Collagen is built from amino acids, including glycine, proline and lysine. Vitamin C is the cofactor for the enzymes that stitch it together.
Sun is the largest outside force that breaks the matrix down. Protecting what’s already built is part of the plan.
Strength. Built from glycine, proline and lysine.
Recoil. Slow to turn over in adult skin.
Holds water in the matrix and at the surface.
Ceramide, cholesterol and fatty acid at 3:1:1.

Your reading
Photos show what’s visible. Questions fill in what a camera can’t see. For collagen, these matter most.
